Onion Rotis

Onion Rotis

1 ½ cups whole-wheat flour
2 tablespoons chopped coriander
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 onions, chopped
½ teaspoon grated ginger
2 to 3 green chilies, chopped
¾ teaspoon salt

Sieve the flour and salt together. Mix in all other ingredients and make a stiff dough by adding just enough water. Knead the dough and divide it into 6 portions. Roll out each portion into a thick round with a diameter of about 6 inches. Make a few light, horizontal slits on one side of each round. Cook on a hot pan on both sides using a little vegetable oil until pink spots come on top.
